“THE TRILOGY”
A STORY PRESENTED IN ALBUM FORM
The Trilogy (2025)
“The Trilogy” is a series of three projects created by Ajskells, all releasing in the year 2025. These projects tell the story of a characterized version of the artist getting in a car crash, seeing his life flash before his eyes and being brought back to life by God to live on. Although you’ll find details that solidify the story, it is truly mean’t to place the character in a certain world and emotionally place. The first two chapters are contained in a double album, as the third and final was released as its own project.
Chapter I: The Great Escape of Vegas
Chapter II: Afterlife
Chapter III: God’s Favorite Patient
All three projects / chapters are produced, written, performed, mixed & mastered by Ajskells. Below you’ll find the link to all 3 projects along with the artist’s entire catalogue
“THE GREAT ESCAPE OF VEGAS”
This album introduces the story and world this story takes place in. The beginning of this experiences enters you into a very calm and melancholic atmosphere, with the artist giving an image of him driving on a highway as he sees an angel falling from the sky. He echoes remarks of him wanting to go wherever she’s from but the world wanting him to stay, with the verse these lyrics come from ending with “What’s the use of a heart when it breaks”.
Navigating through the genre of conscious hip hop, this project is littered by melodic choruses and introspective lyricism letting you into the world of the artist himself. This project delves into topics of insecurity, failed relationships, addiction, and existentialism, giving you a raw look into the mind of the artist.
Once we get to the last track entitled “does the devil watch us dance”, the image presented at the start is brought to a conclusion. This conclusion is the artist dying in a car crash and going to the place where the angel is from, with lyrics of spinning out and questioning where’ll he go if it isn’t where he is
AFTERLIFE
As the title suggests, this project is about what happens after the artist dies from a car crash and lives within the moment that his life flashes before his eyes. After the theme of the project and going into the first song, you can hear news coverage detailing a car being sent into the ocean. From there we hear the artist ask an angel in the distance if they’re in Vegas, with the angel laughing and leaving him alone. From there we hear the artist further falling into his addiction, saying lyrics like “tell them roll another one”
From there the project sets the vibe as being hazy and otherworldly, almost like a dream that never goes away. The artist provides details of chasing highs and women, while driving around in the car he presumably crashed while he was alive. Towards the end of this project, the dreamlike reality starts to present the same feelings he was having during his time being alive. Through this realization he gets to a place of peace with where he’s ended up, cemented with the ending track “everything i know” containing lyrics of being okay being so high.
GOD’S FAVORITE PATIENT
This project brings you right into the reality, or in other words the artist being back in it. As he wakes up alive in the body he used to live in, his only feeling is an anger at god for bringing him back into a world he never felt he belonged in.
The soundscape is dramatically different from the following two chapters, being distorted and punchy. This is accented by drums more used in film scores than a hip hop album, bringing you into the pain and madness the artist is spiraling into. After the project hits a peak of loud and enraged energy with the rock inspired cut “Paralyzed”, the project goes into a different direction. With the song “the end of the world”, the artist is saying how he’s hiding from god hoping he doesn’t do more harm to him. This is followed by him asking where the life is that he’s never had but clearly wants. This transitions into the last two songs on the album and by consequence the end of the story, where the artist finds himself in a meaningless void convinced that the world is coming to an end.
Through this he questions everything about himself, and if he lied to himself about who he is than who is he? This leads him to ask whoever is listening what they see when they look at him. At this point he’s accepted he’ll never get the life he wants, and in his final moments sees a dagger floating in the sky that he has referred to throughout the album. This leads to the final lyrics being “I think we’ll be alright” and with that comes the end of the saga.
